I° CIRCUITO DI MILANO
PARCO SEMPIONE - Milano (I),
28 JUNE MCMXXXVI
60 laps x 2.57 km = 154.2 km, 17 starters
-Varzi
persuaded Auto Union to enter a single car in the Milan
GP. There he faced the Ferrari team led by Nuvolari.
Varzi had been over-optimistic about his chances. The
Auto Union car was not at its best on the twisty 2.6 km
circuit round the Sempione park and Varzi suffered a
humiliating defeat by Nuvolari, who after a long
wheel-to-wheel duel took the chequed flag in his Alfa
Romeo nine seconds in front of the Auto Union.

6CM Maseratis for Trossi and Rovere. The race also saw a
fine drive from the young newcomer Emilio Villoresi,
brother of Luigi Villoresi.

II° CIRCUITO DI MILANO
SEMPIONE PARK - Milano (I),
20 JUNE MCMXXXVII
70 laps x 2.57 km = 179.9 km, 11 starters.
There
could hardly have been any race track that suited worse
for the high speed Auto Union cars than the twisty
little Milan circuit in the Sempione Park with its two
tight hairpins. Varzi had had a humiliating defeat there
in 1936 but for some reason Auto Union still decided to
enter Hasse for the 1937 race. The results were expected,
with a double victory for Scuderia Ferrari with Rüesch's
private Alfa third. Hasse finished in fourth place a lap
behind Nuvolari. Trossi and Minozzi (both in Alfas)
finished fifth and sixth.

Once again it was 3 private ERAs against a field of
Maseratis. This time the Maseratis took command from the
start with Severi leading from Rovere and Siena. However,
both Severi and Rovene were soon in trouble leaving
Siena to win. Marazza once again did a fine job in his
old 4CS car.
